This Year's Partner: Hope for the Warriors

On August 20th fifteen players from the golf marathon group, ages 14-65, led an effort to support U.S. service members who have been injured while fighting for our country. We began the 100 holes at 5:45am and finished after nearly twelve hours, a record pace! Completing the 100 holes was physically and mentally grueling, but our mission to raise money for programs that provide reintegration, training and therapy for wounded veterans encouraged us to stay alert and finish strong.
Now that the golf has been played, Thanks to the Support of Our Sponsors, we are proud to have collected nearly $30,000!
In addition to The Bergen Record's coverage of the event, we will also be posting photographs of the Marathon to the photos page.
The mission of Hope For The Warriors® is to enhance the quality of life for U.S. service members and their families who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in service of our country. Hope For The Warriors® actively seeks to ensure that the sacrifices of wounded and fallen warriors and their families are never forgotten nor their needs unmet.
The Golf Marathon Group and the newly-formed Golf Marathon Foundation Inc. is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate, and to a tradition of charitable giving. Since 2002 the Golf Marathon has organized six biannual golf marathon events and has raised and distributed over $180,000 to organizations including Hope For the Warriors, Feeding America, The Jimmy V Foundation, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Larger Than Life and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We hope that this website is a useful tool for learning about the event, meeting the players who actively participate and for supporting an important cause.
